We’ve learned of a defect in the PLM version 4A X10 messaging affecting the 2412S (stand-alone PLM), EZRain, EZIO8T and EZIO2X4 (based on the 2662PL OEM module.) The PLM firmware version is listed on a small sticker on the back of the PLM. We are working with SmartLabs on a replacement/upgrade strategy and will announce that shortly. Meanwhile, if your unit is affected, please write to support@simplehomenet.com.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.

Does the 4a firmware bug affect receipt of X10 or something else? Any word from SmartHome when an update will be available?
I’ve emailed support @ Simplehomenet (where I purchased my PLM), but haven’t heard back yet.
Thanks,

AnonymousInactiveJune 21, 2007 at 4:20 amPost count: 23Is the issue just with 4A? What about PLMs of a different version?
AnonymousInactiveJune 21, 2007 at 2:05 pmPost count: 256The X10 issue is only with 4A. We are waiting to get our stock upgraded with 52 and expect to resume shipments on Monday. Meanwhile, please continue to request RMAs through our support e-mail (support@simplehomenet.com)

What are you replacing it with. Is there a new revision of the firmware?
AnonymousInactiveJune 23, 2007 at 12:17 amPost count: 256Yes, the new firmware revision form SmartLabs is 52.
AnonymousInactiveJune 27, 2007 at 4:17 pmPost count: 3Paul,
I still haven’t heard a peep from support about getting my PLM upgraded or whatever is necessary to make X10 work properly.

AnonymousInactiveJune 27, 2007 at 11:44 pmPost count: 23Did you have to purchase your unit through Simplehomenet? I bought mine through HNA, do I need to go back through them for a replacement?
AnonymousInactiveJune 28, 2007 at 12:39 amPost count: 256Please understand that warranty replacements are handled by each specific distributor. If you bought your unit from us, we’ll be glad to process a replacement or upgrade. Just write or call our toll-free number to get an RMA number. But please understand that each distributor has a different replacement policy .
We are now shipping PLM firmware version 5.2

AnonymousInactiveJune 30, 2007 at 12:17 amPost count: 23Just want to double check. Any issue with any version other than 4A?
My PLM has firmware version 2.4. Any problems with this version?
AnonymousInactiveJuly 3, 2007 at 12:57 amPost count: 3Paul,
I called the phone # after not getting an email response.
Then I mailed my PLM in for the update last Friday via USPS priority mail. I’m hoping to get the replacement this week before I go on vacation.
Thanks,
KevinAnonymousInactiveJuly 9, 2007 at 3:10 amPost count: 23Paul,
You around? Any problems with 2.4?
AnonymousInactiveJuly 9, 2007 at 2:13 pmPost count: 256To clarify, the issue of X10 messages not being handled does not affect version 2.4. Version 4A introduced the problem which is why we are now shipping 5.2. We are catching up with shipments of any new or replaced PLMs today.
