1. Does backup and restore work?
If you mean from EZServe to Harmony Gateway, the answer is no. They are completely different. If you mean for the Harmony Gateway, you can backup and restore the files using a FTP CLient manually.
2. Do we have to use the smartenit website to do configuration or can we still use the java app and directly interface with the device?
What kind of configuration do you mean? The iSmartenit App guides you through all configuration, the first time you set it up. When you open the App, it discovers your Gateway, then saves all your settings, guides you to set the password, pin, recover email, zip code etc..AnonymousInactiveNovember 7, 2013 at 11:04 pmPost count: 131In terms of Backup, I mean the ability to backup the Harmony configuration so if there is a problem I can restore it back to a known working condition. It sounds like the FTP Client might be possible, is that correct?
In terms of direct configuration, for my current EZServe if the direct HTML interface starts causing my troubles I can use the “Smartenit Utility Suite” to directly access the device and make the changes manually. Although not ideal, I like having the ability to directly access the configuration. Also if your air application stops working or SmartenIt ever decides to stop supporting it at least I will continue having a way to manage/configure my device until I can find an alternative.
Thanks,

How about a direct UI against the Harmony device instead of using the smartenit website? Kind of like what you can do with EZServe today.
Thanks,

Additionally, developers can also create their own UI using the published API.
