    Hello,
I have problem with my EZIO8SA.
When I connect with Utility Suite 1.81, the software display “Connected V0”.

    I made some test:
I made some change in “Configuration Register” I click Write, and when I click Read, all settings is go back to the original state. I got the same result if I not plug ezio in the PLM.
When I click on/off button for Output x in outputs tab, I hear nothing.
I have check if the PLM send power on pin 2 (+) and pin 7 (-), and all is ok (±18v).
I try to change outlet, change network cable, factory reset on PLM. Nothing.

Do you have some idea, some settings to check or something to try ?
My warranty have expired last month.

    thank!

What are you using with the SHN Utility Suite to interface with the powerline, a PLC or EZServe. If EZServe what image level is running on the EZServe.

Is the EZIO8SA/PLM combination something that was working and stopped or has never worked together before. Is the PLM the new Dual Band PLM 2413S. Connect to the EZIO8SA, Read the Configuration Register, set some of the options (note which ones), Write the Configuration Register, Read the Configuration Register. Post the results under the Insteon Traffic tab.

You are not trying to use the 2412S from the EZIO8SA are you with the utility?
    That will not work.
The utility only works with the EZServe or 2414U/S PLC and communicates with the EZIO8SA connected to its normally used 2412S PLM.

Thanks BLH but that question was asked and answered two posts back. A PLC is being used.

I use the old PLM 2412S (rev 2.9), I bought last year in same time. It’s not the dual band. I send you the insteon traffic tomorrow, i’m not at home.

You have all the right equipment. It sounds like either the PLM or EZIO8SA may have stopped working. The Insteon Traffic information should help confirm this. It will not show which one, only that the correct commands are being executed with incorrect results. Knowing if any of this worked in the past could help.

Are you using a regular straight through CAT5 patch cable from your PLM to your EZIO8SA, or did you get a cable with your PLM that has RJ-45 to RJ-11 and you’re using that?

It must be a regular patch cord and not that cable that may have come with your PLM.

Let us know if this has ever worked for you.

    Thanks!

I use a regular network cable (CAT5e), not crossover. My setup work since one year, and last week, it stop workting for no reason. I must admit that there has been much fluctuation power due to winds last week.

The fact that things were working and stopped after power problems suggests either a device failure (either the PLM or the EZIO8SA) or perhaps either is in a strange state due to the power fluctuations. Unplug the PLM for a few minutes to be sure both the PLM and the EZIO8SA come up clean. You probably have already done this but wanted to mention it just in case.

I leave the PLM and EZIO8SA unplugged approx. 1 day and same result.
I send you the inteon traffic
    I made this operation:
    connect
    test output ->off
    test output ->on
    read configuration
check Broadcast status chg and click write
    read configuration

    Send:
    1 To ID:0E.DC.B7 flags:0F cmd1:28 cmd2:0
    2 To ID:0E.DC.B7 flags:0F cmd1:2B cmd2:48
    3 To ID:0E.DC.B7 flags:0F cmd1:48 cmd2:10
    4 To ID:0E.DC.B7 flags:0F cmd1:48 cmd2:0
    5 To ID:0E.DC.B7 flags:0F cmd1:4E cmd2:0
    6 To ID:0E.DC.B7 flags:0F cmd1:4D cmd2:40
    7 To ID:0E.DC.B7 flags:0F cmd1:4E cmd2:0

    Read:
    1 from ID:0E.DC.B7 flags:2F cmd1:28 cmd2:0
    2 from ID:0E.DC.B7 flags:2F cmd1:2B cmd2:0
    3 from ID:0E.DC.B7 flags:2F cmd1:48 cmd2:10
    4 from ID:0E.DC.B7 flags:2F cmd1:48 cmd2:0
    5 from ID:0E.DC.B7 flags:2F cmd1:4E cmd2:0
    6 from ID:0E.DC.B7 flags:2F cmd1:4D cmd2:40
    7 from ID:0E.DC.B7 flags:2F cmd1:4E cmd2:0

    And it don’t work.

The command to read the EZIO8SA revision level returned a 00, which is of course wrong. The Write command to Set the Configuration Register with the Broadcast Status Chg option was issued but had no affect because the following Read of the Configuration Register came back with no options set. The PLM was accepting commands from the powerline but either was not passing them to the EZIO8SA or the EZIO8SA was not responding. I get the same results if I unplug the cable between the PLM and the EZIO8SA so I cannot tell which device was not working correctly. With things working now one or the other was affected by the power fluctuation. Or perhaps the Cat5 cable came loose on one end or the other coincident with the power fluctuation. Once I had a cable come loose. Looked like it was connected correctly but the plastic locking tab had not clicked with that end of the cable was not making a good connection. It created a problem when I moved some cables around. Still looked like it was plugged in okay but when I pushed harder I heard the locking tab snap into position.

Whatever the cause, glad things are working again!
