For X10 commands there can be a considerable latency or lag of nearly several seconds between say triggering an X10 motion sensor and the ultimate activation of a light switch. I guess Insteon cuts this latency significantly, but I’m not as familiar with the Insteon parts.
As I understand it, one of the purposes for the EZServe as far as macros operating on X10 products is to be able to act as a middleman relay for the activation of the light switch in response to that motion sensor example and possibly limit the activation to certain times of the day. Will this middleman macro action significantly increase the latency of the response to motion at the sensor?
If so, how will the extra latency compare to that of just the EZX10RF as it receives X10 RF and rebroadcasts the X10 line codes? Double it? 50% increase?
