We are now going to be posting the features for the next release. If we are missing anything you feel is important (feature or bug), please add it to the list.
Feature Additions:
Thermostat Support
Improved EZRain Screen
XML Device Definitions
Timers on Odd/Even days as well as Every other Day
Ability to enable / disable timers
High level group commandBug Fixes:
TBDEdit – you will notice this has been changed to 1.56. 1.55 will be released in a day or two, to resolve a problem with limited links per device. The new limit will be 128 per device.
AnonymousInactiveJuly 24, 2008 at 9:23 pmPost count: 73Will there (eventually) be some special handling for the upcoming motion sensors? I can see having at least a couple in my HA network.
I would also suppose that they could be managed through macros… but being able to set an ‘ignore’ window after the sensor is ‘tripped’ would be nice.
I’m looking forward to the thermostat support. Hopefully soon I’ll be getting at least one. Will there be support for polling the thermostat? Would be nice to monitor temperatures remotely.

You will be able to use the refresh command to manually poll the thermostat. Also, the timers will allow for setting setpoints.
For the motion sensor, we will see how it works when it comes out – however the ignore window is not a bad idea regardless.
AnonymousInactiveJuly 25, 2008 at 2:49 amPost count: 10When using sunrise and sunset variables, the + and – designators define both the enable time and the window. This said, you have to set up multiple macros to simulate an event that you might want to operate from 1 hour before sunset to 1 hour after sunrise.
I wonder, however, if Simplehomenet would consider timer and macro sets-up that would ask the user to define the following:
Start Time (AnyTime, Exact Time, Sunrise, Sunset)
Start Time Offset (null, + or – prefixed to 00:00)
Duration (00:00:00) and/or
End Time (Exact Time, Sunsrise, Sunset)
End Time Offset (null, + or – prefixed to 00:00)This would cover just about anything you might consider with the exception of random timers for those who are interested in security settings.

Looking forward to the new changes. I hope the motion sensors will be handy. I know of a couple ways I could use them, so I might end up with a couple or three.
What might also be cool would be to be able to group timers – specifically timers for a thermostat, so you can easily view (and edit) your thermostat schedule. Just a thought. 😉
AnonymousInactiveJuly 25, 2008 at 10:25 pmPost count: 3For timed events, an option (check box) to randomly vary the time, such as available in some other controller software, including the older X-10 programs, would be useful to avoid set patterns.
AnonymousInactiveJuly 26, 2008 at 1:30 pmPost count: 11EZIO8SA support? The last time I checked on mine, the EZIO8SA wasn’t supported. That was a few firmware revisions ago.
AnonymousInactiveJuly 26, 2008 at 6:06 pmPost count: 1001The EZIO8SA is listed in the Type: section of the Device Management GUI on the 1.53 image. SHN has posted that 1.54 is due to be released this weekend.

It can be useful in a variety of situations like going on vocation or having a late night party.AnonymousInactiveAugust 13, 2008 at 11:43 amPost count: 36@cvonkirchbach wrote:

I second this request.

I’d like to temporarily disable a timer. Sometimes I work from home and don’t need my outside lights turning on at night.

Added to the list for the next release after the device increase release coming this week.
AnonymousInactiveAugust 19, 2008 at 11:31 amPost count: 29I’d like to see a high level Send Group XML command.
AnonymousInactiveAugust 24, 2008 at 9:02 pmPost count: 12I’d like to be able to deselect the “Daylight Savings Time” checkbox when using network time services. (Arizona does not use DST at any time.)
(edit) I just checked 1.55, and I still can’t deselect the “Daylight Saving” checkbox when the NTP radiobutton is selected. If I manually deselect “Daylight Saving” when “Local” is selected, it reverts to “Daylight Saving” checked when I switch back to NTP.
