Chasing 2414U Interface lockup, suspect Dakota/EZSnsRF

Have been chasing an occasional disconnect/lockup of the 2414U Interface module.

Using Indigo 4.0 but the problem has traversed a few versions while chasing it’s ultimate cause.

The one thing consistent in the log is that the Interface locks up/disconnects after some Dakota 3000 MD activity.
Have shuffled 3000’s in the process but no satisfactory results. Since removing a 3000 from a high use area it took almost 2 weeks to get a failure, but fail it did.

Going down the chain, I changed the EZSnsRF today. Old firmware was 1.10, new is 1.12. The old one actually had an extra label: 0811 Rev. 1.6, PLM Firm 63.

Any history of the older unit having a high failure rate?
If my system now becomes reliable I will assume the EZSnsRF is indeed the culprit but since it’ll take 2-3 weeks to confirm I thought I’d ask in the meantime.

My EZSnsRF is a few years old with no problems you describe. I am not running a Mac with Indigo. If the EZSnsRF was flooding the powerline with messages either because of a problem with the device or the motion sensor was sending continuous motion signals as was theorized on the Indigo forum I would have expected to see several MD events in the log which were not there. Also the LED on the PLC would be flashing as it detected Insteon traffic. The thing about MD events is they are async to anything else going on. Certainly multiple folks can turn on different switches at the same time but that event does not happen very often and the Insteon architecture aborts a Group sequence if another is detected. With an MD event you cannot predict what the host was doing when the async event was detected so there is a greater chance of stressing something do to timing that otherwise might not ever happen with Insteon switch use . Do you have the log from several minutes before the lose of USB communication to see what was happening leading up to the inability of Indigo to talk to the PLC?.

Only thing that seems to be out of the ordinary is more Button 5 activity than normal for the area, I.e. it’s the garage and it was spring cleanup time. Perhaps another set of eyes can spot something?

When I had a Dakota in my office it was the one that showed up just prior to failure.
Am putting the 3000 back in my office to see if we can accelerate another failure or confirm all is well.
