Hello! I am a recent purchaser of an EZIO2X4 and have a question on it. Let me preface this by saying that although I am reasonably intelligent, when it comes to electrical stuff I can mentally collapse.

My current setup has two dry contact switches (I think that is what they are called). One is a heavy-duty magnet/sensor mounted on my garage door to sense open/close. The second is a smaller magnet/sensor mounted in an automatic dog door to sense open/close. These both work wonderfully well. Thank you!

My confusion starts with the third and fourth inputs on the unit. I want to add another magnet/sensor to the mix (identical to the first two) but don’t know if it is possible. Is it? Can I use it as it came? I don’t need an analog input and I do not currently have anything 1-wire so those inputs are not useful to me right now.

Any help that you can give to unconfuse me is greatly appreciated.

Also, I attempted to register in the forum to post this question but am waiting on a response from the moderator. Since I have this question in my head already, I decided to use email instead.

Thank you for a good product. I am looking forward to utilizing it even more.

You can use inputs I2 and I3 with pull-up resistors to provide the needed potential for the dry switches to be “seen” by the EZIO2X4. Please use a 4.7K resistor for each input to the terminal marked +5V. Then you can use a dry contact between each input and GND.

    Thanks for your business.
