    New to insteon but have many X10 devices. Trying out ZBP server on a pi using USB EZIComm PLM. I have successfully added insteon leak sensor but trying to add a dual wired on/off outlet I get the add to take but then it immediately goes undiscoverable. I have tried a fresh uninstall/install of the server with the same results.
    Guess i won’t be buy anymore insteon products from Menards.
    Any troubleshooting ideas?

    One common cause is having the PLM on 1 120v leg, the device (OutletLinc in this case) on the other 120v leg with no Insteon coupling between the two legs.

    You are correct PLM and wired outlet are on opposite AC panel legs. Because they are only about 20 feet apart i was thinking should be solid RF connection.
    What is the real world distance of the insteon radios? I have a smartenit plm and a dual on/off wired outlet.

    The SmarenIt PLM (at least the ZBPLM) is not dual band. I threw a couple OutletLincs around the house as repeaters that could be used for other devices down the road. Felt like the best value. FWIW, I have a Insteon ToggleLinc which I found out after the fact is not dual band (SwitchLinc is) and the connectivity is less than ideal. Frequently times out and I’ve tested/used with both the ZBPLM and Insteon 2413U. I use the 2413U for better general connectivity with the Raspberry Pi and iSmartenIt

    That’s interesting, I have the 5010K and when I do a discover it finds the device with the correct address and cat info. Then goes undiscoverable, they are on different lines in my ac panel. If it’s not dual band I wonder how it sees the dual outlet at all.

    If discussing the 2663-222 On/Off Outlet (dual outlet), it is not Dual Band. Smarthome does not sell a Dual Band device that is clearly labeled and described as such. Look at the sales page on Smarthome site for 2663-222.

    You need good Insteon coupling. There may be other issues but trying to run Insteon without Insteon coupling is not practical.

    @rlandrus: Can you please try adding it manually as a Switchlinc Relay and let us know how it goes. Just FYI: the Dual On/Off Outlet is not completely supported. Only one of the outlets can be controlled as of now.

    Adding the 2663-222 dual outlet as switch link relay did not help. It says it does the add but as a dual on/off outlet A352,then goes undiscoverable. Does it identify the device by typing in the address information? The smart home specs sheet says it has a 900 mhz radio in it, but that won’t help me if the EZIComm plm does not have a radio, I am out of luck, at least until I start buying more insteon components. Spinning my wheels until I get some more modules I feel like.

    Would you be able to send us the logs? The path is: /var/log/zbp

    EZIComm that we sell is Dual Band, so it should be able to communicate with RF only Insteon Devices. So we maybe able to check what’s going on from the logs. To answer your question, yes we identify the devices based on their insteon id.
