    Hi folks,

We have just released the Harmony Gateway Firmware v1.20.

    Details of this update:
    1. Improvement in INSTEON links management, which also makes Scenes much more reliable. You will also notice that Scenes are created much faster than before.
    2. An update to fix issue with Sunset/Sunrise Wizards.
    3. Improvement in connecting/controlling WiFi Thermostats, Belkin WeMo devices.
    4. Fix for reconnecting to the cloud service which caused connection errors when accessing remotely.
    5. Many other minor fixes

    Current Work in progress:
    1. Saving last known status of each device on the Network.

To upgrade your Harmony Gateway, follow the instructions here.

Let me know if anybody has any questions.

I’ve installed the new firmware, and neither my sunset nor sunrise wizards seem to be working over the past couple days. I also noticed that the current time, sunset, and sunrise times in the timezone setting area are way off. I assume these two problems are related, but I’m not sure. I switched to a fixed time wizard, and I’ll see if I can notice when it fires.

Have you set the Gateway to static ip? If yes, can you please try it with dhcp?

Fortunately my time zone stuff is working. However, I am running into the following three issues…
    1. Many of my devices are not coming up controllable at all (even after multiple refreshes).
    2. Certain items in wizards won’t turn on/off even though I can do it directly through the iPad/iPhone.
    3. I removed one item from the controller and tried to add it back in and the controller won’t recognize it (I tried both discovery and manual).

Unfortunately this update made things a bit worse… At least for me.

Interesting… setting to dhcp seems to allow the Timezone to get set correctly. I’ll see tomorrow morning if the sunrise timer works.

Thanks, although I’d prefer to have a fixed IP.

    dgreenb,
You may already know this, but you can keep the DHCP setting on your controller but have your router assign the IP address directly based on the MAC ID of your controller. This is how I have it setup, it also ensures that the router always assigns that IP address to that device.

@dgreenb: Apparently there is a problem in resolving the hostname when the Gateway is set to Static internally. I’m checking if there’s a workaround. But anyways, the correct thing to do would be exactly what newmans_99 suggested. Set the Gateway to static in the router, rather than setting it in Gateway itself.

@newmans_99: I think what you are experiencing is a lot of packet collisions. I was able to duplicate this easily, and even verified it on the INSTEON Sniffer. Setting a little delay in the Gateway communications seemed to resolve it in our lab. Can you try to test it with this Firmware. Let me know how it works for you now.

Sorry for the delay in trying out the updated firmware. It helped a little, I now get 1 out of 6 devices to show status. For example, in an area with 12 devices I get 2 status updates. It is better than none, but still not very good, especially if the light or item that you want to turn off/on is one of the non-working 10.

The sad part is that some of the devices are right next to each other and are the exact save version, so it is simply unreliable at this point.

I also tried adding the device I removed in the last test and it still does not show up (manually or discovery mode).

Any suggestions? Any way that I can provide you information that would help in your debugging?

With the static IP the sunset across aren’t occurring. But sunrise based one seem to be fine. I’m still messing with it a littlev though.

    Steve,
Can you plug an Insteon Access point next to the Gateway. I have tested with 20 devices in an area and adding the delay has defnitely helped.

    David,
It is a known bug that the Gateway cannont convert hostname to ipaddress when gateway is set to static ip internally. Im trying to find the solution, but in the meanwhile you should assign the Gateway to static on the router.

Also i have another update coming up with fix for Messenger in Wizard and also to support the INSTEON Motion Sensor, Open Close Sensor, Leak Sensor. Mini remotes and more..

I’ve got the gateway on a static IP from the router, and the timezone seems fine. However, I think I’ve found a bug. My wizards that are based off sunset/sunrise MINUS an offset are working properly. But when I changed one to sunrise/sunset PLUS an offset, they did not occur. This is even with the static IP.

    Hi David,

I will look into that and let you know by tomorrow. Thanks for your help.
