I am running into a problem that I can’t quite figure out. This is what I believe has happened and what I am trying to do..

    What I believe has happened:
I believe that I have a Switch Linc that is now overloaded (Watt wise). It was working last year without any problems but then I replaced the outdoor coach lights on the house and I believe that they require more watts than before. It is important to note that existing scenes and the switch link itself continue to work.

What I am trying to do:
I am trying to remove the Switch Link from a current scene and add it to another one. I have resigned to the fact that I will need to replace the existing SL with the High Watt SL one. However, before doing that I need to remove the existing SL from the scene. I happen to know it is in the scene since I can turn the scene on/off and the SL responds appropriately. However, it doesn’t show up in the scene list (from the EZServe screen) and I can not add it back into the scene either.

I have reviewed the XML files but can’t really tell what needs to be added/removed from them in order to correct the scenes.

BTW: I have even tried to completely remove the scenes but EZServe won’t let me because it can not access the offending device AND I can’t remove the offending device because it participates in a scene.

Any suggestions/help that you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

Delete the device. When the popup displays “Is the device physically present” respond No.

    Already did that. Received:

This device has dependency with Areas/Actions/Scenes. Please delete them first.

This is what got me to the point of deleting it from the Scenes. So the Scenes can’t delete it because it is invalid and the device can’t be deleted because it is in a scene. Gotta love circular references.

What EZSrve firmware level is being used?
Is the HTML or Harmony client being used?

Areas have no information in the device itself nor do Actions. It should be possible to remove device references from these two without need to physically communicate with the device. Running 2.6.16 when I attempt to delete a device that has an active Scene definition I get the popup question about being physically available even with an active scene definition. I am using the HTML interface.
