    Hola! I’ve got two EZFLORA and I’m using Indigo 3 via powerlinc USB. One of the ezflora is always happy and the other one is sleepy. I haven’t figured out what the cause is but the sleepy one occasionally stops turning on valvles.. I’ll send a valve on request manually and it will respond with an “acc: all valves off”

    With perfect consistency if I simply unplug and plug back in the EZFlora it is happy again… que pasa? Note that with the other EZFlora (not sleepy) the triple messaging you see below does not hapen.

    In the following snippet you can see:
    5:12 manually flip valve 3 on
    5:22 valve 3 correctly turns itself off after reaching the ‘max time set’
    5:46 manually flip valve 3 on again
    5:46 manually valve 3 off
    5:47 manually flip valve 3 on – *fails*

    Are both EZFlora devices plugged into the same circuit (same circuit breaker)? Does your software have the ability to display the actual Insteon commands being issued? The trace you posted is logically what was desired, it does not show what command values were actually issued.

    They are both plugged into the same home electrical circuit though they are wired to different valves (of course).

    I was hoping that based on the redundancy in the transmission/receipt of control messages there was a no-brain solution.

    I don’t see a way to get lower level trace info. Given that they are both recognized automagically as the same type device I expect that manually triggering on would result in the same message exchange between the controller software and the EZFlora.

    The only difference I can see between them is that the reliable one runs firmware 2.3 and the unreliable one runs 2.4 (yep the newer one is the unreliable one). I use a powerlink 2414 USB if that matters…

    FWIW I have two of these things and one has been consistent for ever and the other needs to be unplugged frequently to get it to continue to activate the valves though it always responds to Insteon commands.

    Any suggestions?

    Without specifc information on the command exchange I have no place to start from a technical point of view. There could be something wrong with the commands being used. The commands could be correct but the device has been explicitly locked out to further valve changes. Or all commands and conditions are correct and the device is not responding according to specs. Not possible to reach any positive conclusion without the detail specifics. You have provided good external information but that information does not lead to a conclusion. The valves may be controlled with Group commands or they may be controlled with Direct commands, and I guess even a mixture of both. You can try things like swap the plug locations and see if that makes any difference. Or swap the devices versus the valves they control. Use device A to control the valves device B is using and use device B to control the valves device A is now controlling. Basically putting device A physically and logically in place of device B and vice versa. If the problem follows the device, working from a different power location with a different set of values, then it would look like the device. If the problem stays with the power source and valves but using a different device, then the problem is elsewhere. I am sure diagnosing things by the process of elimination is not what you wanted to hear but I don’t have any other suggestion if the control software is unable to provide the detail information on actual commands issued and actual responses.

    Well the sleepy EZFLORA died outright. It will no longer respond to Insteon messages at all. I’ve tried a reset (hold set switch before plugging in and until 15 seconds have past) – it still won’t respond. The LED lights up when the set button is pressed but remains unlit otherwise. Type for RMA. The good news is that the other one is still behaving perfectly and has enough zones for me to get by until the replacement for the faulty one arrives.
