    I’d like to know if the following scenario is possible (may be in future firmware?)
    I basically would like multiple motion detector trigger ON but OFF should come after delay starting after last motion detector sends ON, not after just any of them send OFF.

    Something like this

    The timeline could look like that:

    T=0
    1. Motion1 sends ON to EZServe
    2a. EZServe sends ON to light
    2b. EZServe starts timer for OFF (T+5min, which is T=5)
    T=1
    3. Motion2 sends ON to EZServe
    4. EZServe resets/restarts timer for OFF (T+5min, which is T=6 by now)
    T=2
    5. Motion1 sends OFF to EZServe (it is ignored)
    T=3
    5. Motion2 sends OFF to EZServe (it is ignored)
    T=4
    T=5
    T=6
    6a. timer triggers, EZServe sends OFF to light
    6b. EZServe clears timer

    Possible?

    The current EZSrve Timer/Macro function does not support the result you are looking for. Suggest adding that to the EZSrve Feature List Request Topic.

    You can do your example with a Simplehomenet EZIO2X4. Connect the motion sensors to an Input on an EZIO2X4. How this is done depends on the motion sensor. Set the Input “Ignore On to Off” option which stops the Insteon Group OFF sequence from being sent from the EZIO2X4 when the Input (motion sensor) turns off. Set the Input Timer to 5 minutes. At the end of 5 minutes the EZIO2X4 will send an Insteon Group OFF sequence to whatever responders have been linked to the Input. Should the Input be turned ON again before the 5 minute time interval has elapsed, the time interval is reset to the full 5 minutes. The effect is to turn off responders 5 minutes after the last Input (motion sensor) ON state change. I can confirm this works from direct tests run before doing this post. I used a mechanical switch to turn on the Input (like a hardwired security PIR motion sensor would). I also linked an Insteon controller to one of the EZIO2X4 output relays which was connected to the Input. This technique could be used with the Smarthome PIR Motion Sensors.

    The Simplehomenet Utility Suite is required to set the Input options. The SHN Utility runs on a PC and requires a PLC or EZSrve to communicate with the powerline/EZIO2X4. The EZSrve itself will have the ability to configure the EZIO2X4 options in a future image. The EZSrve Road Map shows the EZIO2X4 configuration support in a 1.6 image projected for the October time frame. Other HA software/hardware may have the ability to configure the EZIO2X4 options.

    Thanks for the suggestion, I didn’t know EZIO2X4 could do that, it is useful information. However such setup requires wired detectors (if I understood it right) I was hoping to use wireless insteon detectors.

    Sorry I was not clear in my last post, it does work with wireless Insteon motion sensors as well. That was my Insteon controller explanation. You link the Smarthome PIR Motion Sensor(s) (they are controllers) to the EZIO2X4 Output Relay 1. Output Relay 1 is connected to EZIO2X4 Input 1. EZIO2X4 Input 1 is linked to the device(s) you want to turn on and off in response to the motion. No hard wiring from motion sensor to EZIO2X4. A few jumpers on the EZIO2X4 connector to connect Output Relay 1 to Input 1 are all that is necessary.

    Thanks! Your comment makes it perfectly clear! It is still one unit too many, in my opinion, as pure software solution is not that hard to do, but it should work. I will definitely explore the EZIO2X4 route. As soon as my HA budget recovers from EZServe purchase…
