Will any of the devices and or wizards be lost when upgrading to the new firmware?

Everything will be preserved if you follow the directions, since it is first creating a backup and then restoring the important files.

Is there a way to save profiles with the current devices and wizards. For example lets say I wanted a profile for the summer, a different one for the winter or even just one for a certain vacation time period?

Not as of now. But something we can implement. Let me look into that.

Also is there a different way without having to SSH into the pogoplug to do the firmware upgrade?

Yes, through the iSmartenit App. The view where you see the Firmware version is where you will see a button “Upgrade your Gateway”. But this won’t work with your version because the URLs for new updates have changed. So unfortunately SSH is the only option.
