I believe Smarthome recommends against that. I plug the PLC into an outlet in a different room when using the PLC. I have found the PLM to be a more reliable device than the PLC. If you know what Comm port that 2413U USB PLM is using with Indigo you can stop Indigo and connect the SHN Utility to that PLM. The SHN Utility makes no changes to the PLM (or PLC for that matter) when it is using it for powerline communication. I make the assumption that the same type of device driver is used on the Mac for the USB PLM as is used on a PC. The device driver makes the USB connected PLM look like a Serial port connected device, assigning it a Comm port number. Could be a different arrangement on the Mac.
