The SHN Utility does support a PLM for powerline interface. On the initial SHN Utility screen toward the bottom are three radio buttons, EZServe, PLC, PLM. Select PLM and enter the Comm port number of the Serial port the 2412S PLM is connected to. A Serial port on a PC uses a 9 pin connector which the PLM was supplied with. If the Mac provides standard Serial port connections it should work.
